All this Melanin – Flawless 81

“I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me”

Look at all this melanin. Beautiful under the sun, beautiful during the sunset, beautiful at night.

I’m becoming more comfortable in my skin, in my body, in my spirit. And that is one of the most beautiful things of all.

Felt like channeling my inner 90’s girl… or maybe it’s the 80s.. 🙂

I’ve never taken pictures in the evening, or even at night, so I just went out one night and just decided to. I love how I caught the sunset in the back!

Culture Me

Hey Beautifuls!

This is a really late post lol. I’m trying to get back on my A-game.

On Easter Sunday I decided to go back to my roots, with a bit of a modern twist.

I wore the Traditional Aso-Oke in what my Aunt (who’s a queen) would call royal colors. Of course my modern twist was the more modern lace blouse instead of a traditional buba.

I even tied the Gele (head tie) myself! It was my first time ever trying and I think I did a great job!

A Day at the Museum

Hey guys!

This is actually a really late post. My sisters and I went to the Dallas Museum of Art over Spring Break and I decided to share the pictures with you.

Better late than never, right?

We had a great time! The artifacts were beautiful! My favorite was the HUGE Bejeweled wardrobe that we saw. They even had artifacts from Nigeria and all the different cultures and tribes of Nigeria. It was a really great experience.

In case you were wondering…. The Dashiki Jacket was custom made by me.

A Time for Everything (OOTD)

“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3: 1

Hey Beautifuls! It’s been a minute. Today’s post is an OOTD with my friend. We were at my Aunt’s (not really an aunt, but if you’re Nigerian, you understand) Introduction Ceremony. It’s a Yoruba tradition where a couple has been engaged to be married and they have this big ceremony introducing their fiance to both sides of the family basically. It’s just like a mini Traditional wedding.

Enjoy.

A Day Out on the Town – Job Hunt (OOTD)

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Hey Beautifuls!! I know, I know!! I am so very sorry! Two weeks without a post, but I’ve just been lazy to be honest. I so dislike editing! And my mac is acting up so I cant watch all the editing videos to help me out. But no excuses, the Lord is my strength and shall be for the posts to come.

I will be putting out a few more posts in the days to come, I’ve been working really hard to make up for my absence, so I hope you enjoy them!

Alright. Now to get into today’s topic.

I’ve been on a very rigorous job search since the summer started, to no avail for the most part. But I have faith the Lord will give me the one that is right for me. (The reason why I started off with today’s particular bible verse.)

But finally, I got my second interview for this semester! Might I say I didn’t get the job. But one disappointment is just a door opening for even better oppurtunities. So this is what I wore for my interview, Enjoy!

The Sun Still Shines on a Rainy Day (OOTD)

Do not sorrow, for the Joy of the Lord is your strength” Nehemiah 8:10

Hey Beautifuls!! Welcome to my blog!!!!! This is my first official post! Yippee! So I know I’ve had this blog since Early May, and I never posted anything out of laziness, but hey!! Here I am!

So lets get into it, Shall we?

I’ve been changing some things in my life and one of the things I’m trying to incorporate into my lifestyle, is trying to look your best or at least presentable at all times, unless of course it is absolutely inevitable (exams). So I put together this little outfit the other day. (Heading to pay for classes and then to the mall)
